Are you looking to create a stylish and inviting home? I love a space that tells a story of the beautiful souls who occupy that environment, and believe that all we surround ourselves with is an expression of who we once were and all that we are yet to become. Because of my passion for the unique character of each of us I have dedicated all my time and resources into creating a collection of statement home decor pieces that can speak volumes of my customers personalities. As an expert in the interior design field I have noticed that the key to a stylish and inviting home is to find the perfect balance between comfort and luxury. And one way to achieve this balance is to incorporate artisan decor into your home. Artisan decor - meaning not mass produced but made in small quantities mostly by actual skilled artistic people - is a great way to add a unique and personal touch to your home. I have always been fascinated by the effect that a well balanced space has had on my mood and although not all people understand the purpose of seemingly 'unneccasary' ornaments and sometimes empty vases on a floating shelf or my husbands favourite, multiple scatter cushions, to me they are vital pieces that not only express who you are as an individual but also adds a sense of homely character, warmth and vibrancy to your space.

Here are my designer tips for creating a stylish and inviting home with artisan decor.

1. You want to focus on the colours and textures of the artisan decor you’re using. Choose colours that are warm and inviting, like earth tones and pastels. Choose textures that are cozy and comfortable, such as knitted blankets and patterned rugs. This will create a welcoming atmosphere that your guests and your own senses will appreciate.

2. Make sure the artisan decor you choose is functional. Invest in items that serve a purpose, such as a hand-carved wooden bowl that can be used as a centre piece or a woven basket that serves as a storage box for your little ones toys or blankets. This will ensure your artisan decor is not only attractive but also useful.

3. Don’t forget to add in some personal touches. Artisan decor is all about making your home look unique and special and is meant to be an extension of you and your family members personalities. Find items that reflect your personality and interests, such as framed photographs that hold a combination of memories and art that speaks to you, handcrafted jewelry, or vintage items. This will help make your home look more inviting.

4. Make sure the artisan decor you choose is of high quality. Invest in pieces that are well-made and will last for years to come. My favourite way to showcase personality is by adding this revolutionary peel-and-stick wallpaper. Ps. This example is my own bedroom and I installed this wallpaper completely solo with a busy 2 year old running around! It was so super easy to do and it took me less than 4 hours!

Finally, don’t be afraid to mix and match different artisan decor styles. Try combining modern pieces with traditional pieces to create an eclectic look. This will give your home a unique and inviting atmosphere. Creating a stylish and inviting home with artisan decor is an easy and fun way to add a unique touch to your home.
